Everybody makes mistakes here and there, and SEO bloggers do as well. Let’s talk about seven of those mistakes that keep happening more often than they should.

.Underestimating our readers. This is the most common sin of many bloggers – to underestimate the knowledge of their readers. Sometimes we might know our readers well, but still give them less than they deserve and able to process. To assume our readers are mindless or lesser crowd that needs to be moved in one place is wrong. Readers are experienced users and bloggers. Of course, we can make certain assumptions regarding their future behavior patterns but we shouldn’t get carried away while at it. Below are some examples of sites that help analyze and direct your relationship with readers:

.Starting too many projects at once. Many of the ideas we started might end up unsuccessfully – grabbing several things we are not able to complete one in a satisfactory way. At the end we have many partially finished or started meaningless and useless projects. For effective management you can use a program like Basecamp. With its help we can make notes, marks, and track time. One more useful program is – http://www.timesnaper.com. This tool periodically saves screenshots during the day which will let you recreate the full picture of what you have done during that day.

.Getting carried away. This is a usual trap for those of us who advance their sites on the net. We can sit there and endlessly track increases or declines in the traffic flow, how the search engine results change daily or even hourly. All of these repetitions take valuable time away from our day. We have to learn to limit ourselves. Sometimes a program like pageaddict.com might help. This tool lets us see the time we spend checking a given site’s stats.

.Not sure what to do next. Often, when we are not sure where to move next we simply leave what we have started. There are projects that need a lot of time but the output can be small. Many times in life we spend time on projects that are useless to us. Here we can come up with the following suggestion – we can make a list of all of our goals and projects, mark how much time we spent on each one of them (we can use Basecamp here). Now we can look at the list and determine the value of each project or program we worked on. We need to determine which project needs to be done now and which ones can wait. And then we need to compare the “priority” with the “time spent” column. Maybe we are spending too much time on the lower priority projects?

.Working inefficiently. Actions that result in our desired end result and actions that are just actions that are being completed are sometimes every hard to tell apart. We should try to not just do things but strive for improvements which result in the end product – sort of like a puzzle. We should clearly see how each completed action fits into the main picture of achieving our end goal.

.Forgetting or throwing away ideas. Did we do anything with all ideas we had? Have we forgotten an idea and only remembered it again when it was too late or it became useless? We should not waste our potential and thoughts. There are tools to save ideas, here is one of them: www.wridea.com – web of basic tools to make notes quickly and easily. Mindjet – helps organize ideas into subjects and categories, make connections between them, and finally connect them. A simpler and effective methods are of course our everyday voice recorder (your cell phone has one).

.Trusting blindly. Everyone can be an “expert” online, but those who really know the network processes are very few. Careful analysis of a certain field helps determine five or so professionals. We shouldn’t trust everything written out there. The best way to find reliable source of information and inspiration – is to determine those five professionals. Here we can also use programs to help weed out some work:
