How many Links equal Google PageRank?

How many Links equal Google PageRank?
All serious webmasters face this question when working on the SEO of their sites.
The table below shows the breakdown of PageRank achieved in relation to the number of links from sites with different PageRank. Reference it anytime you need to check how many more links you need to get your target PageRank.
Explanations:
Left column (vertically) has the desired PageRank, and the top row (horizontally) has the PageRank of the sites linked to your site.
For example (numbers in bold in the table), to receive PageRank=3, you will need 555 links from the sites with PageRank=1 and only 101 links from the sites with PageRank=2.
PageRank of the sites linked to your site (horizontally):

Great Post.
Just digging it.
Thanks! Enjoy it.
1. What is the source of this?
2. How does the number of links on the source page (internal & outbound links) affect these numbers?
3. “in relation to the number of links from sites with different PageRank” – don’t you mean “pages” instead of “sites”?
4. How does the domain PageRank affect the numbers?
1. Google and my own calculations and investigations based on experience. Feel free to check out one of my sources: www4.ncsu.edu/~ipsen/ps/simax69812.pdf.
2. The number of links on the source page does not affect this calculation until they are processed and rated by Google. For instance, if there are many sold links or bad neighborhood inbound links, they will not affect the juice coming to your site from such source page, until Google penalizes this source page, thus affecting its PageRank.
3. This is interesting question, and the answer is “it depends”. If a source site is a weak site, but the source page has a higher PageRank than the front page of the site, then it is the PageRank of the source that counts. If it is some heavy hitter site with PageRank 7 or up, but the source page has PageRank 3 or 4, then Google usually gives higher weight, affect, and trust than that of the source page.
4. I think this question was answered in the number 3.
I hope this helps. Let me know if anything else is on your mind. I really appreciate intelligent and professional contributors like you. Thanks!
This is a fairly amazing post. Due to my curiosity I left comments on some highly ranked pages early on. Had no idea I was getting so much link juice. I’m still trying to figure out how to leave .110 of a comment!
Ohh, thank you so much. . .its good information. . . .
Content always pay but now everybody is aware about SEO. So the question is Who will rank high? All sites are SEO now.
I have a question. Suppose:
- I have a link from a catalog
- That catalog’s home page has a PR of 6
- The page of that catalog which actually links to me has a PR of 2
Am I getting a PR6 link or a PR2 link?
Thanks
Google counts both, linking page PR and linking domain PR. Another factor is how many outgoing links like yours does that page have and what is the quality of those landing pages/domains. The PR2 link from PR6 domain results in SERP/PR/Trust effect closer to PR3.
