Improving Target Page

Main Target Page – is your “seller” page, to which the visitors are redirected when they click on your advertisement or a reference in the search engine results. The main purpose of your target page is to make your visitor buy what you are selling. In other words to increase the page conversion – percentage relationship between the number of visitors and buyers.
So how to improve the target page?
- Optimize your target page for the logical keywords, such as “buy …”, “sale …”, “… sales”, “… bargains”, and so on.
- Decrease the “weight” of your page as much as possible – your target page must not take long to load. Flash content, images – all of that is not only loads your page, but also distructs your customers from the main goal (or a target).
- Surround your guests with familiar things. Convince them your site is not a spam site – take off the pop-ups, design your target page in a popular advertisement format, make your page common sensical (not sure if this is a word at all), make sure you place a tag or a notice that your site is safe (very important), spell check and make sure there are no “doodoos” (very important).
- Before optimizing your page for your readers, you need to understand what you want from them. Define your own goals.
- Think like a buyer/customer. Place all of the important elements where they can be seen – at the top of the target page. Take everything extra away – your customer’s attention must not scatter. Place the “Buy” or a “Purchase” button where it’s noticable and highlight it with color. Make your navigation logical. Remember – all possible questions your visitors might have must be answered immediately without any additional travel through your website. Also, do not be shy to repeat yourself.
- Place (only positive) testimonials, customer feedback, media publications – everything that proves the quality of your product or service. Also, with your recommendations you can add a photograph, description, video – all of it will help your visitor understand that this product is real. Potential customers can compare what they see and other descriptions provided in front of them with what they need the product for. You want them to make that important decision right there and then!
- Make your forms as simple as possible. All the question-answer, registration, and purchase process must not make your visitor tired or annoyed. A smallest delay in the process of “buying” – your customer will leave everything unfinished. This is crucial – when your customer makes a mistake or any mistake for that matter is made, the fields on your form must NOT clear automatically (this one will cost you if you do not correct it).
- When your customer has purchased from you and the form is submitted, make sure they get redirected to a “Thank You” page where they will be thanked for their purchase. You could also have an automated thank you email sent out to them. In both of these instances after thanking them you could also ask for a referral and tell them how important it is for you that they are happy and that you would appreciate every referral (maybe with a small gift if your budget allows).
